Milton Area Studio Tour
Saturday and Sunday, October 2 and 3, 2010
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 13th Annual Milton Area Studio Tour, hosted by the Fine Arts Society of Milton, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 2 and 3, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The free, self-directed tour features the works of over 40 artists at various local locations.
The weekend event offers visitors the chance to enjoy both the beautiful autumn scenery of the rural countryside and view original creations offered by the multi-talented artists. Locally made works on display and for sale include original paintings in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour; sculpture in clay, stone, wood, cement and metals; pottery, art photography, jewellery, blown glass, fused glass, stained glass, mosaics and turned wood. Items are figurative and abstract, decorative and functional.
The tour brochure provides information about each artist’s work and a detailed map of the studios, situated in the town of Milton and in the area bounded on the east by Trafalgar Road, on the west by Carlisle and Moffat, and from Eden Mills in the north to just south of Britannia Road. Visitors can enter the tour from any of the locations on the yellow-highlighted tour route and follow the arrow direction signs to the next studio in either direction. The driveway entrance at each location will be easily identified by the blue, yellow and white balloons and a “Studio Tour Today” number sign.
Take time to enjoy the fall colours and natural beauty of the Niagara Escarpment and refresh yourself at some of the sponsoring restaurants – or stay for the whole weekend at one of the local B&Bs.
Brochures are available on line at
www.fasm.ca and will be available at each studio.
