OK this really ticks me off. i go to computer stores look for video games computer stuff all that jazz , and i come to a computer software aisle and this woman was being shown this interactive cookbook program by a sales assoc. the price on the box was $120 dollars so i walk up beside the woman and say to her that u can get a program online for free you know that does all of what that  does plus more i tell her. and all i get from the guy was these evil looks...... it really ticks me off that these corporations take advantage of people that aren't tech savvy!  Angry  i always say  that u can find mostly all the programs you want online for free off of google or download.com. plz comment on this

I agree with you 100% Brian. Usually you can. I think I have found more things on the net then not.

To be honest, for the first time I've been searching for a week or so for something and haven't been able to find exactly what I want Sad  Censored

Download.com is a great place to download free stuff...  Especially in the area of protection for your computer, ie adware programs, virus protection, firewall...  There's all kinds of great stuff there.  A friend of mine introduced me to it, and now I go there first if I need a program of somekind.

I'm looking for motion backs for home photo DVDs, but I'm too cheap (to broke) to pay for them.  I'm not looking for the standard freebies of textures though, so they are proving to be difficult to find.  For example digital hotcakes' wedding backs (sample here) are the type I'm looking to aquire.
